The BROUGHTON name is central to my wife's ancestry as Broughton was the maiden name of her mother.
Even though recent generations were from Hull, East Yorkshire, prior to the end of the 19thC, the family
were from West Yorkshire, specifically Leeds and the small towns to the south-west.
Cherryl's mother, Gladys Jean Broughton was born in Hull, East Yorkshire in 1924.
